The Mart

Chicago, Illinois

With the help of Gensler, owner and operator Vornado Realty Trust repositioned architectural icon The Mart as a marketplace of experiences, creativity, and collaboration. The result reimagines how workspaces support a balanced lifestyle and valuable output by highlighting human-centered amenities.

The Art Deco behemoth takes up two full city blocks and features more than 250 design showrooms and 2.4 million square feet of office space. The newly enhanced second floor amenities purposefully connected to community focused Marshall’s Landing and South Lobby includes 50,000 square feet of conference center, health center, and a tenant-exclusive speakeasy that will allow talent to connect and cross-pollinate ideas. A new public River Park, with al fresco seating and increased café options, is an amenity to the neighborhood.

As a destination, The Mart is a hub for community engagement that attracts and retains a new ethos of how we work.
