Studio Director, Principal

As a Studio Director based in Gensler’s San Francisco office, Bert is a master of leveraging technical expertise to deliver outstanding design. He understands clients’ business goals, programmatic and technological requirements, and helps to craft an inspiring and purposeful user journey through space and design. Bert leads cross-disciplinary teams at Gensler that deliver award-winning projects, ranging from office interiors for Fortune 500 companies to complex multi-phased campus and hardware lab renovations. He has developed strong client relationships with companies like AMD, Twilio, Zendesk, Apple, Twitch, and Google, delivering projects for them in countries like China, Brazil, Canada, and South Korea.

A registered architect in California and Wisconsin, Bert earned his BA in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley, is an active member of the AIA, IIDA, and CoreNet Global, and serves as a Committee Chair for DIFFA San Francisco, which raises money for the SF General Hospital Ward 86, providing services to people living with HIV/AIDS.
