Michaela is an Urban Strategies & Design Leader. She focuses on complex urban projects with an expertise in the integration of infrastructure with urban growth and regeneration. Understanding the driving forces behind industry trends, she works with the public and the private sectors to increase the competitiveness of our cities in an ever more challenging urban environment. She leads a team of designers and planners who use innovative strategies for consultation, design development, and delivery to realize proposals attuned to their local context. Michaela is active in various forums across the industry to advocate smart and resilient planning that is balanced with the aspirations of its communities. She re-joined Gensler in 2012 after consulting for the United Nations Environment Programme in Paris, France, supporting the organization’s mission to promote sustainability in the built environment.
