Yan Ding, AIA

As the Leader of Gensler’s Education practice in Greater China, Yan is committed to creating flexible and human-centered learning environments that foster educational innovation. Guided by his people-centered design philosophy, Yan has led his team to successfully design and deliver influential campus planning and educational architecture projects, including the Tongzhou Campus of Tsinghua University and the new campus of China University of Geosciences in Xiong’an. He has earned recognition from clients for his design expertise in leading the transformation of educational spaces.

Yan’s previous experience includes working in key design roles at renowned architectural firms in the U.S. on a range of iconic and impactful projects in major cities such as Chicago and New York, in addition to Shanghai. With a deep understanding of the international and local markets, he consistently delivers architectural designs that are visionary yet practical, globally informed yet rooted in a strong sense of place, and driven by sustainable development principles.
