Gensler Dallas Design Manager Amie Keener Inducted into IIDA’s Prestigious College of Fellows for 2026

Dallas — Gensler is proud to announce that Amie Keener, Design Manager in Gensler’s Dallas office, has been inducted into the prestigious International Interior Design Association (IIDA) College of Fellows for 2026.

Induction into the IIDA College of Fellows is the highest and most distinguished honor awarded by IIDA. It recognizes members who demonstrate exceptional leadership, elevate the value of interior design, and have made extraordinary contributions to the profession and broader design industry. Fellows serve as mentors, educators, and advocates, shaping the future of design through leadership, community engagement, and industry impact.

With more than 25 years of experience in the commercial building industry, Amie Keener is recognized for pushing design boundaries and championing inclusive environments that enhance the human experience. In her role, she brings a people-centered approach to design leadership, creating spaces that are thoughtful, equitable, and responsive to the needs of diverse communities.

A passionate advocate for the interior design profession, Amie currently serves as Vice President on the IIDA International Board of Directors and has played a significant role in advancing Interior Design legislation in Texas through her years of service with the Texas Association for Interior Design, including as past president. Her leadership has helped strengthen awareness around the value and impact of interior design while supporting the profession’s future growth.

Amie is equally committed to mentorship and design education. She serves on the Advisory Board for the Department of Interior Architecture and Industrial Design at Kansas State University and previously stepped in as Interim Program Director for the department. She also serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board for the College of Architecture, Planning and Design at Kansas State University, helping guide and support the next generation of design leaders.

In addition to her industry leadership, Amie is an accomplished author and speaker, contributing articles and thought leadership on inclusive design and related topics to industry publications and design media.

“It is a profound honor to be elevated to the IIDA College of Fellows. I extend my deepest appreciation to the mentors, educators, colleagues, industry partners, friends, and family who have shaped my professional journey—and to my Gensler colleagues and clients, whose partnership and trust continue to elevate our work,” said Keener. “IIDA remains a vital force in advancing the Interior Design profession, and I am committed to furthering our global influence through design education, research, collaboration, licensure, and Interior Design legislation.”
