Marcus Partners entered the New Jersey market with the purchase of 500 Plaza Drive, a 425,000-square-foot, Class A commercial office building in Secaucus. The developer aspired to repurpose the existing space to attract new, high-profile tenants and maintain their anchor tenant, The Children’s Place. Gensler started by repositioning the exterior canopy and reconfiguring the interior atrium and second floor. A new illuminated canopy asserts the building’s identity at street level, welcoming tenants and visitors into the five-story atrium. Inside, dark marble walls are replaced with glass and translucent materials to promote a natural aesthetic. The front of the bright new atrium features an inviting reception area, an open-air dining and lounge space, and a statement stair.
