Beth Yeshurun Sophia and Jack Bender Memorial Chapel

Houston, Texas

Founded by the Bender siblings to honor their parents, this cemetery chapel is the first conditioned funeral chapel for any Houston congregation. Beth Yeshurun Sophia and Jack Bender Memorial Chapel gifts families and loved ones a comfortable and spiritual space to gather together. Symbolic metaphors for Jewish burial rites are woven into the ephemeral and tangible elements of the chapel design. The space is light and uplifting, conjuring a vision of what’s to come.
