The design is a result of a cohesive effort with the local and global clients, with change management and innovation working side by side to deliver new possibilities for the company while setting an industry precedent for progressive new ways of working. One of the primary design drivers sought to make the space work harder and offer the agility needed to support the client’s business needs, by moving to desk sharing and new ways of working that would allow them to be more open and collaborative.

Through a series of user engagement workshops, as well as an open and collaborative design process, staff participated in the cocreation of the final concept of ‘Oasis’. This concept brings the outside in and provides a variety of work and collaboration settings, whilst providing the staff a sense of wellbeing and a closeness with nature. At the heart of the project is ‘Place du Village’, a flexible, multi-function environment, which provides a variety of amenities such as dining, games room, library and town hall in support of the workplace experience.

Leveraging the views out over the River Seine we created focus work zones — ‘Work with a view’ allowing staff to retreat to an isolated setting with great views. Materials were meaningfully and strategically applied across the building to maximise visual impact whilst minimising costs. This fast tracked interior fit-out project demonstrates that extensive employee engagement and an exciting workplace do not have to be at odds with delivering a project on time and on budget — it’s all about making smart decisions about where to spend, when to engage, and which questions to ask.
