Coppia
Chicago, Illinois
At Coppia, the interplay between art and design shapes both the building’s identity and the everyday experience of its residents. Overlooking West Loop, the mixed-use tower takes its name from the Italian word for “couple,” reflecting its location at the crux of multiple neighborhoods.
Gensler collaborated with The Pizzuti Companies, a developer with a strong commitment to the arts, to craft interiors that balance comfort and creativity. In the reception area, elements including hand-cut terrazzo flooring, mirrored ceilings, and a wood tambour feature wall create a dynamic entry sequence where art and architecture engage with one another. Original works are integrated into the architectural language, complimented by expressive furnishings and layered finishes.
The rich amenities program supports the urban experience with co-working lounges, a game room, a dog spa, and a fourth-floor pool deck with skyline views. Floor-to-ceiling windows illuminate Coppia’s 298-residential units, where clean lines and a subdued palette reflect the building’s modern character.
