Confidential Law Firm

Los Angeles and Century City, California

Gensler worked with a prominent Los Angeles-based AM Law Firm to simultaneously design two new workplaces with strategic locations in both Downtown LA and Century City. Both of the legal offices feature a distinctly captivating design yet harmoniously complement each other. The new offices provide contemporary, collaborative workspaces that cater to attorneys, professionals, clients, and visitors alike, and boast unique amenities designed to attract top talent and the next generation of legal professionals.

The DTLA workplace design maximizes natural light, maintaining a sophisticated and minimalist approach that allows the views to take center stage. Sleek furniture, finishes, and materials are complemented by fine art and sculptures that elevate the overall workplace experience. A striking steel staircase connects all three floors across an atrium-like opening, which is softened by a custom-designed wood partition and lush green accents. The design team removed part of the office tower’s exterior facade to create corner terraces, which can accommodate various event sizes. The application of retractable sliding glass walls along the terraces allows fresh air to permeate the workspace and creates a distinctive indoor/outdoor gathering experience — a rarity in a downtown high-rise setting.

The firm’s Century City location mirrors its downtown counterpart in attractiveness. It combines comfort and elegance, using light woods and a cool color palette inspired by the coastal surroundings of the west side. A serene water wall harmonizes with a sculptural marble staircase that gracefully spirals through two floors. The lobby provides employees and visitors with easy access to amenitized open seating areas for casual interactions, as well as a range of conference rooms for private meetings.
