Light & Print Building Renovation

By transforming two abandoned industrial buildings into a unified Class A office environment geared for technology tenants, Gensler is helping downtown San Antonio modernize and attract new business, while also preserving its rich heritage. Former home to a newspaper and printing press, the Light & Print buildings will account for nearly one-fifth of San Antonio’s Class A office space upon completion. Gensler will reskin the buildings to make them more energy-efficient, create a new vertical connector between the two structures, and provide new openings to increase natural light. The majority of the existing structure will be preserved, while the building’s mechanical systems will be replaced. The existing brownfield site will be turned into green space, and new life will be infused into the streetscape with the addition of retail at street level.
