The Post Oak School

Located across two campuses in the heart of Houston, the Post Oak School is one of the oldest Montessori schools in the United States. Facing 60% growth in K-8 enrollment, a middle school at capacity, and insufficient room for desired enrichment programs, the school needed to develop expansion and renovation plans. A needs-based assessment guided the plans, which included creating spaces for appropriate learning, enrichment, and outdoor areas for each grade. While initially hired for master planning efforts, Gensler’s role expanded to additionally include the remodel and facility design outlined in the master plan, following a successful partnership with the school.
