An award-winning architect and community leader, Karen serves on Gensler's firmwide Management Committee and leads the Seattle office as a Co-Managing Director. Over the course of her 30-year career, Karen has built an exceptionally diverse portfolio, representing clients in the fields of higher education, government, aviation, entertainment, corporate workplace, retail and hospitality. A faculty member of the University of Washington since 2003, Karen teaches design at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. She currently serves on the Boards of the Seattle Sports Commission, the Seattle Arts Fund and the Bloedel Reserve. Karen enjoys her daily ferry commute while living on Bainbridge Island with her husband and two teenage children. She earned her professional degree in Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin.
