Interior Design magazine’s special issue spotlights Gensler’s longstanding commitment to design innovation and the future of design around the world. The magazine explores dozens of projects across Gensler’s Cities, Healthcare, Workplace, and Lifestyle sectors.

With a focus on future-forward leadership, the issue frames the firm’s 60th anniversary as a launchpad for Gensler’s next chapter. It includes insights from leaders across the firm, including co-CEOs Jordan Goldstein and Elizabeth Brink and co-Chairs Andy Cohen and Diane Hoskins. They detail the importance of developing the next generation of creative leaders, describe Gensler’s proactive approach to embracing new digital tools, and share why “creativity at a firm of this scale requires such a diversity of viewpoints, perspectives, and talent,” says Brink.

“Sometimes the bigger a firm gets, the less creative it gets,” adds Hoskins. “At Gensler, we’ve gotten more creative.”

The article highlights new kinds of talent entering the profession, why AI is, according to Cohen, “the biggest breakthrough tool” he’s seen in his career, and how Gensler’s unique co-leadership model underscores the importance of collaboration.

“We believe that design is not a solo art,” says Goldstein. “How do we make sure that all voices resonate? As leaders, we see ourselves in the role of conductors—of a symphony of different voices around the table.”

“We join with the rest of the industry to celebrate 60 years of Gensler’s committed service to the business of design—and to us all...,” writes Interior Design Editor-in-Chief Cindy Allen. “I have used Gensler as my own personal gauge on the progress of design and the health of our business, in this country and abroad.”

This collection of projects spans industries and geographies, highlighting how the firm is collaborating with partners to meet new expectations and shape an optimistic future in our global communities.
