Regional Managing Principal

An award-winning architect and community leader, Karen leads the Northwest region as a Co-Managing Principal. She has served on Gensler’s Board of Directors and currently serves on Gensler’s Management Committee. Over the course of her 30-year career, she has built a diverse architectural portfolio, leading the design and management of many large, complex projects across numerous market sectors, including commercial office buildings, higher education, sports, aviation, health and wellness, entertainment, corporate workplace, retail, and hospitality. Karen currently serves as the Chairman of the Board to the Seattle Sports Commission and serves on the executive boards of directors for the Seattle ArtsFund and the Bloedel Reserve. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for Visit Seattle, and is an invited member of the distinguished CDRT, Chamber of Commerce. Through this involvement and leadership, she has gained a unique perspective on the renaissance currently underway in Seattle and the Greater Puget Sound. Karen earned her degree in Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin.
