Cargo, Crossrail Place

London, United Kingdom

Cargo, Crossrail Place is a major repositioning scheme in Canary Wharf, London that seeks to revitalise a 1990s office building, one of the first to be built in the Wharf. Gensler’s design elevates the commercial office building to new prominence as a destination with convenient adjacency to the Elizabeth Line station — a major new transport node to the Wharf that serves over 150,000 people a day. Through an extensive cut and carve intervention to the podium, along with the provision of a large public market hall at the dock level, Gensler’s scheme aims to create a new destination at the heart of the Wharf for employees, tourists, and residents alike. In addition, office floors will be upgraded to a high-quality contemporary offering with an additional southside reception and new rooftop terrace facilities.
