District Winery

Washington, D.C.

Contributing to the growth of the neighborhood, District Winery is the first winery in D.C. and complements the landscape of the surrounding community. Forest City’s The Yards redevelopment has transformed the area into burgeoning mixed-use neighborhood with various retail pavilions and a park along the waterfront. District Winery occupies the entire “jewel box” retail pavilion which fits into the greater context of the park and contributes to the greater redevelopment story. As a standalone new-construction retail building, it is appropriately scaled for its surroundings, creating an authentic and natural presence. The building features a restaurant, production room, tasting room, and a mezzanine level. With expansive water views, the second floor event space opens onto an outdoor terrace complete with green roofs and gathering space.
