Susman Godfrey Houston

Houston, Texas

CHALLENGE
Law firms today are rethinking traditional office models to better support mobility, transparency, and collaboration. After decades in the same space, Susman Godfrey needed a fully reimagined workplace to support its growing team. The firm sought to replace its segmented layout with a modern environment that boosts connectivity across three floors and reflects its people‑first, equity‑driven culture.

SOLUTION
Gensler reimagined the workplace with clear vertical connections and purposeful gathering spaces. An extended internal stair is anchored with strategically placed amenities, including a community-oriented café. Upper floor work areas feature new finishes, modern workstations, and refreshed administrative hubs. Underused filing zones are repurposed as private offices, while shared/double offices support flexible workstyles and attorney collaboration. Wider circulation paths improve comfort and flow.

IMPACT
The redesigned office delivers a cohesive, equitable, and future-forward workplace that reinforces Susman Godfrey’s culture. Employees benefit from improved access to natural light, shared amenities, and transparent leadership spaces. Improved vertical connectivity, flexible office types, and refreshed collaboration zones enhance productivity and cross-team interaction. The refreshed workplace embodies the firm’s pioneering spirit and sets a new standard for law firm design.
