The recent work from home experience has shined a spotlight on the importance of comfort and wellbeing within our residences as well as a renewed focus on the blend of social spaces – balancing both gathering and semi-private spaces. At The Apex at CityPlace, a new mixed-use, luxury apartment community in Overland Park, the Gensler team incorporated these key considerations in designing an 18,000-square-foot interior amenity space. The residential community’s bright and airy shared amenity space features warm wood treatments that offset a palette of cool hues splashed across the floor coverings and plush furnishings. Welcoming, hospitality-infused gathering areas provide residents with ample room to lounge or entertain — evoking the look and feel of a boutique hotel.
