Logistics Client Fulfillment Center

Queens, New York

Located on the former site of a decommissioned radio tower sits a 57,000-square-foot urban fulfillment center. Gensler provided a speed-to-market solution that utilizes a membrane structure, enabling our client to be operational ahead of the holiday season.

The first of its kind in New York City, the Industrial & Logistics design team navigated complicated constraints to meet strict NYC zoning and building codes and establish efficient circulation routes for the freight, fleet, and employee vehicles. The rear-loaded, drive-in fulfillment facility is designed for optimal tenant flexibility and — as a prefabricated structure — can be disassembled and reconstructed on another site. The fulfillment center is also strategically designed without columns or other obstructions to allow for the maximum configurations of people, equipment, and vehicles.
