Pacific Place

Seattle, Washington

The focus of this full-scale retail center redevelopment project is to create a destination that pulls visitors through the space, from both the reconfigured southwest corner entrance, located on the downtown retail corridor, and the new South Lake Union-facing grand entrance. The design concept weaves the quintessential natural elements of the Pacific Northwest — the Cascade Mountains, rain, forest, and water bodies of the Puget Sound — to serve a purpose: to lure a visitor into the center, entice them to circulate vertically within the center, and tempt them to circulate horizontally around the floor. Each element is emotive, offering different experiences to each of the four targeted guests: The Amazon Worker, the City Dweller, the Tourist, and the Mom With Kids.
