Warner Music Group’s new headquarters is a heavily branded environment that honors the unique qualities and independent nature of each of its individual music labels while presenting one cohesive, overarching WMG brand statement. The design challenge was to create a work environment that conveys authenticity, showcases industry leadership, and displays a passion for music by using materials, furniture and finishes that emit a sense of warmth, comfort and just the right amount of edge. Art, in all media and forms, has a tremendous presence in the WMG space. The rich visual vocabulary takes inspiration from a variety of sources – artist portraits, imaginative typography, reinterpretation of iconic elements, music imagery and language, NYC music venues and street art. Three-dimensional installations, printed photos, and digital elements showcase WMG’s current activities and pioneering role in the music industry.
