As audiences seek out in-person experiences that offer deeper of connection, exploration, and escape, developers are leveraging the tenets of themed entertainment to create new destinations. AREA15 has been at the forefront of this movement since its launch in 2020. Attracting millions of visitors per year for its surrealistic, art-forward approach, AREA15 has helped redefine immersive attractions. To build on its success, AREA15 wanted to expand from a single complex to a diversified mixed-use district filled with best-in-class art, entertainment, and singular guest experiences.
Gensler collaborated with AREA15 to expand an 80-acre immersive ecosystem with Zone 2: The Terminals. This phase features flexible spaces that host unique pop-ups and rotating programming. The design creates a vibrant public realm, shifting from intimate moments to large-scale spectacle. Non-linear building placement forms inviting nooks that encourage gatherings, while outdoor activations and interactive energize the campus. A repurposed 747 anchors the expansion as an unforgettable event venue.
AREA15 pulls guests into a world of wonder, curiosity, and exploration. It weaves together different tenants through a collection of venues into one immersive destination. The mix of attractions draws families by day and adults by night, making the district lively around the clock. With its bold blend of art, entertainment, and play, AREA15 strengthens Las Vegas as a center for creativity and embodies the sets the stage for the city’s next generation of immersive experiences.
