Professional sports venues are increasingly integrating hospitality-driven environments that enhance the guest experience beyond the event itself. This shift reflects a broader sports and entertainment industry trend toward creating multi-use spaces that combine luxury with comfort and connection. In Phoenix, Mat Ishbia, owner of the Phoenix Suns and Mercury and founder of Player 15 Group, sought to elevate the PHX Arena’s premium offerings with a destination that would generate revenue beyond game days and redefine what an arena-adjacent experience could be.
Located within downtown Phoenix’s PHX Arena, the design team envisioned The Ra Ra Room as a member-only dining club that would extend a premier hospitality experience year-round. Inside, retro decadence blends with supper-club sociability. The palette draws from the Arizona desert, with warm pinks and reds recalling canyon rock. Hand-troweled plaster columns, mirrored bases, and brass accents add depth, while animal prints, ruched velvet, and locally sourced art bring playful sophistication and a strong sense of place.
The Ra Ra Room exemplifies how bold design and fast-paced execution can produce transformative guest experiences. The space accommodates both private dinners and energetic post-game celebrations with carefully choreographed elements that feel intimate and celebratory. More than a pre- or post-event amenity, The Ra Ra Room has become a destination, enhancing the arena’s cultural identity and redefining the business of hospitality within sports environments. The project elevates the hospitality standard in sports venues, blending storytelling, performance, and luxury into one cohesive experience.
