Challenge

As the modern workplace continues to evolve, law firms are reimagining the office to attract and retain top talent in an increasingly competitive market. Traditional hierarchies defined by corner offices are giving way to transparent, collaborative environments that balance focused legal work with collaboration. As Haynes Boone’s Dallas practice expanded in one of the city’s most vibrant business districts, the firm needed a workplace that would prioritize employee experience while enhancing client service and supporting continued growth.

Solution

Gensler’s design strategy places collaboration at the building’s center. A reimagined entryway with a five-story helix-shaped staircase leads visitors to a spacious hospitality café designed to promote connection. Rather than traditional corner offices, collaborative touchdown spaces and meeting rooms at each corner, with single-sized offices between. Glass-front exterior offices provide natural light and views that enhance the interior work and support spaces. Five and a half floors of collaborative spaces, multipurpose rooms, and small focus rooms offer a flexible workplace that meets the adaptive and ever-changing demands of the legal industry.

Impact

Since relocating, Haynes Boone has experienced strengthened recruitment and a revitalized workforce eager to embrace the firm’s client-first culture. The workspace supports diverse work styles while fostering the collaboration essential to modern legal work. The design’s emphasis on transparency and flexibility has strengthened cross-practice teamwork and elevated the client experience — transforming the office into a strategic business asset and a daily embodiment of the firm’s values.
