Pediatric healthcare extends beyond clinical care, shaping how children and families experience wellness from an early age. Thoughtfully designed environments can ease anxiety, support caregivers, and allow providers to spend more meaningful time building lasting relationships with families. As concierge medicine continues to grow, pediatric practices have an opportunity to create spaces that serve patients from infancy through adolescence while accommodating the needs of parents, siblings, grandparents, and caregivers.

Essential Pediatrics partnered with Gensler to create a family-centered clinic that reflects the practice’s commitment to personalized care. A family lounge replaces the traditional reception area with a library, play area, beverage station, member support rooms, and stroller parking. Consultation and exam spaces encourage conversation and connection, while a variety of room types accommodate patients from infancy through adolescence and support a broad range of care needs. Warm materials, abundant natural light, and soft, rounded forms create an approachable, calming environment.

The clinic creates an experience where patients, families, and providers feel supported throughout the care journey. Hospitality-inspired amenities, flexible clinical spaces, and thoughtfully integrated consultation areas prioritize comfort and ease while fostering stronger connections between providers and families. By taking a broader view of pediatric clinic design, Gensler reimagines the care experience as one that supports the entire family.
