Gardere, an Am Law 200 firm with a 109-year history, was in the midst of a complete transformation. Ready to flip the script of what it meant to be a traditional law firm, they made their first real estate move in 30 years, to four floors in the new McKinney and Olive tower. This presented an ideal opportunity not only to evaluate how the industry had evolved and catch up, but how they, as a firm, could ultimately set the benchmark for the future of law office design. As they underwent a comprehensive rebranding process, the design of their space needed to reflect their values and appeal to the next generation of attorneys. Gardere challenged the design team to strike the perfect balance of form versus function. Designing a canvas for art and hospitality in the workplace was just as crucial as smart planning and future-proofing.
