As competition for premium office space in New York City continues to intensify, firms are rethinking leasing decisions as more than a matter of square footage — they’re viewing them as pivotal strategic moves. When this investment firm had the opportunity to relocate, their priorities were twofold: to capture the same awe-inspiring impact of their previous location’s remarkable views and to create a workplace that brings nature indoors while promoting wellness and connection for their people.
The team implemented bold architectural features, eliminating the slab on the interior and the perimeter to create soaring double-height spaces showcasing the city skyline. These double-height spaces maximize natural light and highlight natural elements in the space. Warm, earthy tones contrast hints of bronze and gold, paying homage to the building’s Art Deco heritage while emphasizing the firm’s nature-centric brand. Communal areas are filled with greenery, while lounge-like collaboration zones and a well-equipped gym foster a sense of community and well-being.
This workplace reframes a Manhattan finance office as a strategic asset — not just a floorplate. It recreates the awe once provided by panoramic views through spatial drama, crafted detailing, and purposeful sightlines, while pulling the natural world indoors with biophilic materials, abundant daylight, and restorative amenities. The result balances distinguished prestige with calm, wellness-forward comfort: a setting that impresses clients on arrival, supports focus and recovery for employees throughout the day, and signals a forward-looking commitment to people and place.
