NBC Universal City Broadcast Center

Los Angeles, California

Transforming twin buildings built decades ago into a world-class, 24/7-broadcast center in Universal Studio’s Studio City required the setting of an architectural foundation for the next generation of buildings on the site. To complement the existing heterogeneous array of buildings, which differ in height, proportion, massing and spacing but are united by exterior materials and palette, Gensler employed glass, metal and stone façades. An elevated courtyard terrace, outdoor features and a new pedestrian bridge enhance circulation and connect green zones along the length of the promenade, further unifying this home of advanced journalism for the age to come.
