Sony Pictures Entertainment

Culver City, CA

Having collaborated with Sony to improve and expand its historic Culver City Lot for more than 15 years, Sony Entertainment studios hired Gensler to reposition its offices and employee amenities. With a project scope including a new central plan, two new office buildings, a 1,100-car parking structure and more than seven acres of site improvements, the flexible open floors, a health facility and a commissary that opens into a new campus park create an open, collaborative environment for all Sony Staff. Designed in the traditional Art Deco style used consistently throughout the studio’s 70-year history—since MGM’s 1938 Thalberg building—the new Sony Lot enjoys distinction as the first major production studio to be LEED-Gold certified.
