A leader in the aerospace and energy markets, Woodward sought a “workplace of the future” where its manufacturing facilities and offices would be co-located to increase transparency, collaboration and communication. The new spaces support a unified culture shift and create a platform for high-performance manufacturing, while attracting the next generation of engineering talent. Product design teams are now integrated within lab and manfuacturing environments. Communication hubs provide visible areas for exchanges along “main streets”; and portals facilitate exchanges between management, product support and the shop floor. Modular, flexible layouts enable teams to co-locate and re-locate as needed.
