Aaron is a Technical Director based in Gensler’s Portland office. Throughout his 30-year career, he has focused extensively on multifaceted higher education, healthcare, and science projects, resulting in his ability to synthesize a client’s priorities with strategic technical solutions. Aaron’s favorite projects are complex, and he leads his project teams to embrace these challenges as opportunities and distill the solutions that are prioritized, timely, and actionable.
Growing up on a subsistence farm in rural Nova Scotia, his first technical design solution was for a below grade, connecting corridor that would allow him and his family to get from the house to the barn in comfort during dark December morning chores. Aaron continues to be highly energized when he can develop new tools to improve existing processes and innovate the way we work.
Aaron’s breadth of experience ranges from concept design to technical architecture to permit and delivery strategy, construction administration, and urban planning, through which he integrates technical, social, or cultural complexity into holistic, architectural solutions.
