Principal

Barry is one of Gensler’s global leaders in retail design. A Principal with more than 25 years of experience at Gensler, he has worked on numerous high-profile projects and rollout programs with some of the world’s leading retail companies. He recently led a research study entitled “Shopping the Globe,” which focuses on retail opportunities in emerging markets. On the local front, he organizes Gensler’s yearly volunteer team for Rebuilding Together San Francisco. Barry is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, Architectural Retail Environments and the Retail Design Institute. A Registered Architect, he earned a Bachelor of Architecture from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo and pursued additional courses at Denmark’s International Studies Program at the University of Copenhagen and the Urban Retail Course at Harvard Graduate School of Design.
