Steve is a Principal and Architectural Design Director in our Oakland office. He is known for his award-winning work on projects such as the Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse in Honolulu, Hawaii, and multiple renovations at the San Francisco International Airport in South San Francisco, Calif. Steve is recognized and respected for his creative and balanced approach to work, believing that great architecture fully integrates art and science, and that elegance comes from solutions equally based on proof of performance as well as an emotional connection. As one of Gensler’s Firmwide Design Leaders, he has helped build and direct the firm’s evolving design philosophy and perspective, always focused on creating value for his clients. Steve is the recipient of more than 30 prominent design awards and serves regularly on panels for the AIA and SPUR around discussions of urbanism, architecture and design.
