Aaron is a Technical Director based in Gensler’s Portland office whose 24-year career has been focused extensively on multifaceted higher education and healthcare projects. His favorite projects are complex with seemingly insurmountable odds for success. A level-headed architect with a calm demeanor, he gravitates toward challenging problems. By assembling the best team through networking and delegation, Aaron is able to make room to find solutions that are right-sized and appropriate.
Growing up on a farm in Nova Scotia, Aaron’s first design was for an underground corridor that would allow him to get to the barn in comfort for his early morning chores. To this day, he is just as energized when he can develop new tools and optimize existing processes to improve future work. Through his projects, he aims to leverage his process to solve technical, social, or cultural issues. Aaron’s experience ranges from planning and design to technical architecture, construction, and urban planning.
