Tom is a regional Hospitality Leader and a Studio Director in Gensler’s San José, Costa Rica office. He has more than 25 years of experience on a variety of projects, with a special focus on hotels, resorts, and museums. Working with diverse clients in Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, the U.S., and now, the Latin American region, Tom has broadened his understanding and appreciation for unique opportunities in a variety of markets. His experience includes working with clients in the Mediterranean and Adriatic to develop sustainable resorts that operate efficiently from an economic, social, and environmental position, as well as designing and planning several museums and galleries in the U.S. and Europe, and designing resorts and hotels with a particular focus currently on the Latin American region.
Tom has taught and lectured on architecture, lighting design, and museum design at universities in the U.S. and London. He holds a Masters of Architecture from the University of Utah and an undergraduate degree in the History of Science and Technology from Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts.
