Department of Homeland Security:  Chief Administrative Office Mobility Program

Washington, D.C.

Following a pilot program to establish, evaluate, and implement mobility programs for the Department of Homeland Security in the National Capital Region, the client brought Gensler in to evaluate the program and make recommendations relating to space utilization and work processes. The report included strategies for a range of mobility-related needs, from adopting a free-address and reservation system to guidelines for piloting mobility scenarios within the organization’s current space. Common work patterns were identified and translated into spatial recommendations that resulted in a Mobile Work Playbook to help other agencies develop mobile work programs.
